TLT at Harvard IT Summit

June 3, 2016

TLT, DCE, FAS, and HUIT presented at the Harvard IT Summit on June 2. The topic was “TLT in Action: Stories from the Schools.”
The presentation began with a TLT program round-up by program director Kristin Sullivan.

From there, Sarah Ledoux, manager of instructional technology at Division of Continuing Education (DCE) shared challenges and opportunities related to helping faculty realize the value of Canvas and use the platform more deeply.

Associate director for FAS’s Academic Technology Group (ATG) Mike Hilborn then gave an overview of learning tools interoperability (LTI), the emerging standard way to extend Canvas functionality. His colleague, senior instructional technologist Brandon Bentley, demonstrated a image media manager LTI tool to be piloted in fall 2016 at FAS.

The presentation concluded with HUIT’s managing director of academic technology services (AcTS) Alan Wolf providing a high-level overview of AcTS 2.0.
